1. Instructor Protection Policy
The policy to protect instructors focuses on ensuring their rights, safety, and financial stability. Below are the proposed policies and their details:
1) Guaranteed Payment
Payments are processed within 7 days via secure methods (e.g.,Direct Deposit), and all fees are transparently disclosed.
- Details: Payment schedules are clearly stated, and fee rates are disclosed.
- Example: When paying with an overseas credit card via Eximbay
- Less than 50,000 KRW: 6.5% + 200 KRW
- 50,000 KRW or more: 4.5%
2) When Instructor Fee is Missing
- Inquire with the platform operations team via ‘Customer Center – 1:1 Inquiry.
3) Review Moderation System
We meditate student feedback to flag and remove malicious reviews and handle conflicts through a dispute resolution process to provide a safe working environment for instructors.
- Details: Automatic flagging upon detection of inappropriate language (e.g., offensive comments) in reviews; mediation system operates upon instructor report.
- Example: If a student writes a review saying “Instructor attitude is sh*t,” the platform reviews and deletes it.
2. Revenue Guarantee System
1) Refunds after Lesson Start
Instructors are paid for lessons already conducted even if a refund occurs (e.g., if a refund is requested after 1 lesson, the fee for the 1st lesson is paid to instructor).
2) Student No-Show:
- Cancellation up to 24 hours prior: Full refund to the student.
- Cancellation or No-show thereafter: The student is notified in advance that the fee for one session will be paid to the instructor.
3) Student No-Show Penalty system
To reduce the frequency of no-show, restrictions on platform usage (e.g., warning followed by account suspension) are applied to students who repeatedly no-show
3. Financial Conditions for Instructors
1) Platform Service Fee Policy
- The platform charges a service fee once the student confirms the completion of lesson.
- DOTORE reserves the right to change platform service fees at any time. In the event of a change, DOTORE will notify teachers before the new rates apply.
2) Prohibition of Service Fee Circumvention
Teachers must not engage in any act or activity to evade platform service fees. Such acts or activities include, but are not limited to:
- Proposing, requesting, or accepting payment through other means outside the DOTORE platform or without using its payment service.
- Reporting or listing inaccurate prices for lessons on the DOTORE platform, or charging fees for lessons that differ from the amount agreed upon between the student and teacher.
3) Learning Fee Rate Change Policy
- DOTORE Platform may change the learning fee rate depending on service operation policies and market condition.
- When fee rates change, the details and effective date will be announced in advance, and the changed rate will apply from the date.
- The changed fee rate applies only to new applications and transactions occurring after the change date/announcement.
4) Commission Rates for Event Coupons
- DOTORE Platform may offer free or discounted study coupons to students for service activation and marketing purposes.
- For learning where coupons are applied, the instructor’s revenue and commission rate may differ from the standard rate and are calculated separately according to the coupon policy and promotion conditions.
- The settlement standards and amounts for coupon-applied lesson follow preannounced policies, and the company may adjust them within a reasonable range.
5) Lesson Fee Deposit
Revenue is recorded each time a lesson is completed The instructor’s revenue for the previous month is settled on the 10th of every month. You can check the amount in the “Expected Settlement Amount” section of the Tutor Portal. The settled earnings will be deposited into your personal bank account
- Required Documents: Bank account number, copy of bankbook, account holder name, address and mobile phone number.
6) Withholding or Delay of Funds
- If DOTORE determines that an instructor’s actions have caused, or are likely cause, a significant number of disputes, refunds, or other claims from students who purchased their lessons, DOTORE reserves the right to delay or suspend payment of all accumulated funds for that teacher.
- If DOTORE reasonably determines that an instructor has violated DOTORE Terms or other policies, DOTORE may refuse payment of and remove the instructor’s accumulated funds.
7) Rounding
DOTORE may, at its sole discretion, round up or down the amount a student owes the instructor to the nearest whole number unit of the displayed currency (e.g., USD).
Example: DOTORE may round $101.50 up to $102.00, and round $101.49 down to $101.00
4. Instructor Content
1) Ownership of Instructor Content
All articles, videos, or other materials (e.g., instructor introduction videos (“Teacher Content”)) submitted to the DOTORE Platform are considered Instructor Content. Therefore, pursuant to this clause and Article 18, Paragraph 3 (Copyright and Use of Posts) of the DOTORE Terms of Service, the instructor owns the copyright to the Instructor Content, and DOTORE does not claim ownership of any Teacher Content.
2) Student License for Instructor Content
The instructor grants each student who purchases instructor services the right to view and copy Instructor Content used to provide such services solely for personal, non-commercial education purpose.
3) DOTORE License for Teacher Content
In addition to the license for the use, viewing, copying, modification, distribution, publication, and other utilization of your Member Content (including Teacher Content) granted to DOTORE pursuant to Article 18 (Copyright and Use of Posts) of the DOTORE Terms, you granted the authority to use your Teacher Content (including self-introduction videos) and information related to Teacher Services in any medium for the marketing, advertising, and promotion of the DOTORE platform.
- For clarity, DOTORE may post your self-introduction video on DOTORE’s official channels on third-party video hosting and streaming such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Youku.
- If you submit a written request to the DOTORE Customer Center, DOTORE will remove your introduction video from such third-party channels.
- Additionally, you grant DOTORE the authority to use your profile name in marketing, advertising, and promotional activities for the DOTORE platform.
5. Lesson Price Adjustment Regulations
The DOTORE platform grants instructors the freedom to set lesson fees but suggests certain standards to maintain platform competitiveness and quality.

6. Teacher Policy Violations
You must perform Teacher Services in a manner that meets the educational standards specified above consistently achieves a high level of student satisfaction. The following are considered violations of this Teacher Policy
1) Failing to provide Teacher Services for which payment was accepted.
2) Failing to make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes with students.
3) Causing student complaints to reach an unacceptable level.
4) Acting in violation of DOTORE Terms of Service or other DOTORE policies.
DOTORE reserves the right to take the following actions at any time at its sole discretions:
- Cancel registered Teacher Services.
- Restrict your DOTORE account.
- Adjust, freeze, or temporarily suspend instructor fee revenue balances.
- Suspend or terminate the DOTORE account.
- Contact law enforcement agencies or seek legal remedies.
7. Teacher Code of Conduct
1) Be Culturally Sensitive
Respect student’s values and traditions, and keep in mind that stereotypical assumptions can be offensive. It’s recommended to avoid conversations about marital status, politics, religion, and other sensitive or personal topics. All students must be treated equally. You must not select students based on race, nationality, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or other protected or sensitive characteristics.
2) Be professional and Empathetic
Teacher should play a leading role in communicating with and managing students. Teachers must provide Teacher Services in a professional manner, which includes the following points.
- Responsiveness is Key. You must reply to students’ messages promptly.
- Actively Manage Your Calendar and Profile. Manage your calendar to accurately reflect you availability for Teacher Services. If you plan to temporarily stop providing Teacher Services, update your profile so that you are excluded from the active teacher list.
- Respect Student Privacy. Respecting student privacy includes not requesting students’ personally identifiable information such as date of birth, age, government-issued ID numbers, phone numbers, or home addresses.
- Provide Accurate and Respectful Feedback. Provide feedback that is helpful to students, objective, and balanced.
- Attend All Lessons and Be Punctual. DOTORE expects teachers to responsibly attend lessons at the scheduled time and to contact the student first, especially for students taking a class for the first time. Rescheduling or canceling scheduled lessons should be a last resort. If a student is late for a scheduled lesson, the teacher must wait for the student until the scheduled lesson time ends. The teacher must be available to start the lesson at any time during the scheduled lesson time. However, the teacher is not obligated to make up for time lost due to the student’s lateness.
3) Be a DOTORE Ambassador
By providing Teacher Services on the DOTORE platform, you agree to maintain a positive attitude towards DOTORE and its employees. Furthermore, you agree not to publicly disclose information or content exchanged between you and DOTORE without DOTORE’s prior consent.
